Fortunately, there is one clear mark in history. It was in the early 2000s when a big movement of electroclash being mixed with synth pop. At the same time tech house was gaining popularity. With the right events happening at the right times, the two came together. This mix was able to bring a viral popularity growth very quickly.

Even though there probably had been many other artist experimenting with this genre, the first artist that hit mainstream with Electro House had to be Benny Benassi. That was "Satisfaction" and remixes of his original work are often released. "Satisfaction" was one of those songs that people would have stuck in their head for days. 1. It is interesting how popular electro has become recently. Really never thought it'd become so popular. Go back in time and ask me 3 years ago and I would tell you electro will never garner any mainstream acceptance, especially in America, a nation that groups any electronic sound into the "for fags" category. How wrong was I?
